Sunday was a nice lazy day. We woke up early courtesy of my newly early risings...before i would always sleep in but now its as if my body is saying "hey get used to no more sleeping in days ahead" Rocky was sweet and gave me breakfast in bed and then he was off in the living room working on the last parts of his short. In the morning and at night the house is especially cold so i thought these pics were great of him working away.
We had a nice stroll and ate at this cute little cafe just around the block from us. Live band and all. Nice! They had the yummiest blue berry pancakes and fruit. Sure sure we had a bowl of cereal but thats whats nice mostly all the cafes serve all day breakfast and i still felt like breakfast for lunch. Afterwards when we got back Rocky went straight back to work and I decided to make PUPUSAS. I had just talked to family and they were all celebrating eating carne asada with beans and a mix of delicious foods from the family potlucks we always have. It was for all the April birthdays . In my family April is a busy month. Its starts off with Paty's birthday March 30th and then its like every week April 10 my Godfather, April 13 ME, April 18 Ed's bday, April 20 cousin Daisy, April 23 my nephew Eddie, April 24 Teri and Uncle Fidel!! so phew lots to celebrate so i decided to throw our own by making pupusas since i had some beans and havarti cheese. It would be better with chicharron which is meat but hey beans and cheese are fine. The main thing has to be the maseca which i ordered from the south island since i couldn't find any here on the North. They came out great and it was easier than i thought. I even made some encurtido which is the necessary cabbage /salad that goes with it. All i needed was some horchata and i just might feel like i'm at my Tia Tuti's in San Salvador!! I could hear the cute merengue song now coming from my tias radio: " A mi me gusta las pupusas con encurtido y salsa de tomate" which translates to: I really like pupusas with Encurtido or tomato sal-sa...its the cutest cumbia song that i always think of when i'm eating them.

[this is good] I remember Pupusa's. Bloody lovely. They should be replacing MacDonalds all over the world.
